After it was announced ABC cancelled the show, cast member Emma Kenney tweeted: I am hurt, embarrassed, and disappointed. The racist and distasteful comments from Roseanne are inexcusable.
Roseannes recent comments about Valerie Jarrett, and so much more, are abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show. I am disappointed in her actions to say the least, shewrote.
When users pointed out that the tweet seemed racist, Barr replied, Muslims r NOT a race.
In the tweet, the ABC star of her self-titled show attacked Jarrett, connecting her to the Islamist organization Muslim Brotherhood and the moviePlanet of the Apes.

Barr, an outspoken supporter of President Trump, latertweetedher first tweet was a joke.
A number ofcelebrities andpoliticians blasted Barr for the comment and demanded action from ABC.
Barrs ex-husband and former show star, Tom Arnold, also reacted to the news of the cancellation.
Cast member Sara Gilbert also weighed in on thecontroversy.

Show writer and consulting producer Wanda Sykes,saidon Tuesday she would not be returning for the second season after Barrs tweet. I will not be returning to @RoseanneOnABC, she wrote.
Another tweet was sent,possibly as a response to those asking if she would quit the show.
Cast member Michael Fishman called itone of the hardest daysof his life, saying he felt awful for the rest of the cast and crew who gave the show all they had and were beloved for their efforts.
