Venomis first of several movies based on characters from Marvels Spider-Man comics that Sony has in in development. Others include movies based on Morbius the Living Vampire, Silver Sable and Black Cat, and Silk. In June it was reported thatJared Letohas signed on to play Morbius. The Silver Sable/Black Cat movie–currently titledSilver and Black–was originally scheduled for release in February 2019, but was removed from schedules earlier this year to allow more time towork on the script. Silk is a Korean-American superhero, and that movie is inearly development.
Whilethe previous trailergave us just a brief glimpse of Venom, this trailer is packed with footage of the creature as it takes control of Brock and causes a lot of mayhem. It certainly delivers on the action and lives up to director Ruben Fleischers recent claims that it would bemuch darkerthan most superhero films.
